Tracy & Chris: Pinhey’s Point Fall Session

October 20, 2018

This session was soooo much fun and sooo cold but these two were absolute fire in front of my lens. When Tracy suggested Pinhey’s point to me for their engagement session I was pretty excited since I hadn’t been there in about 4 years but I was a little hesitant as Dunrobin had been hit by a Tornado a couple weeks ago that wreaked havoc. I’d read on photography pages that it wasn’t in the best shape so when you combine that with the cold (plus my pulling my back that very morning), I really wasn’t sure how things would turn out. I kept my head up though because I knew I had a hell of an opportunity here because well, they are quite beautiful together, no? Also Tracy is a Ottawa RedBlack Cheerleader so I was pretty ecstatic about it all. Tracy had advised me that she wanted to do an outfit change and that she would be bringing her Maid of Honour to the session to carry bags to make things easier which was super helpful. We started off the session by walking down the very bottom of Pinhey’s point on the little peninsula before the sun dropped too low. Tracy walked the gravel path in her uber cute heels like a champ as we chatted about wedding planning. We went into no man’s land and started the session with a bang! Although Chris was a little shy at first, Tracy eased him into it so gracefully and easily. She’s a natural at it obviously. Amanda, the Maid of Honour, hid behind some trees and snapped a few quick shots before running away, not wanting to take away from the happy couple. She literally made the session that much funner with her crazy antics and excitement for these two. Thanks Amanda for being such a trooper and making me laugh! That’s usually my job ;).

We walked around the site stopping whenever we saw beautiful light or some lovely scenery which wasn’t too hard to find out here. My favourite blue double doors had been damaged and all the trees taken out from around them but we were still able to use the beautiful stone steps for some intimate shots. Tracy & Chris were up for anything which made my job easier, I barely had to give them direction! We were almost done the session when we walked back up to the parking lot and I saw the most beautiful light about to pop through the clouds so we booked it into the field to get some of my most favourite shots of the night! When I say fire, this is what I mean. I speak for myself, and hopefully the happy couple when I say, We had so much fun! I honestly cannot wait for their 2019 wedding because I know in my heart that it’s going to be spectacular. Until then, look at them bring the fire below ♥
